Abstract
Infectious Bursal Disease (lBD) also known as Gumboro disease (Cosgrove, 1962), a lymphocidal disease of chicks affecting Bursa of Fabricius was reported for the first time in India by Monanty et al. (1971). The disease has also been reported from states of Karnataka (Jayaramaiah and Mallick, 1975), Maharashtra (Ajinkya et al., 1980), Bihar (Chauhan er aI, 1980), Andhra Pradesh (Verma et al., 1981), Orissa, Haryana, Punjab, Himachal Pradesh, Rajasthan and Uttar Pradesh and Union Territory of Delhi (IVRI, 1981-86).
