The present study was carried out to evaluate the immunomodulatory effect of Withaferin A in DMBA (7,12-dimethylbenz[a]anthracene) induced mammary carcinogenesis in rats. Twenty four female Sprague-Dawley (SD) rats were equally distributed to control, DMBA, DMBA+Tamoxifen (Standard drug) and DMBA+Withaferin A groups. Peripheral blood was collected at the 120th day from the initial dose of DMBA and CD3, total T lymphocytes were determined by using  ow cytometry. There was signi cant (P<0.05) increase in the total T lymphocytes (CD3) in the DMBA+Withaferin A group from DMBA+Tamoxifen group indicating immunostimulatory effect of Withaferin A.en_US
