Abstract
The plasma alkaline phosphatase, calcium and phosphorus levels were estimated during different period of premoult, moult and postmoult periods. There was a significant rise in plasma alkaline phosphatase level during the period of force moulting and a fall at the end of moulting period with a gradual increase just before laying. The plasma calcium and inorganic phosphorus decreased significantly during force moult period and reached the premoult level at the time of on set of laying.
