Abstract
(GD) or Wing rot in chickens may be due to several factors. Bacteria like Clostridium perfingens type – A, Clostridium speticum and Staphylococcus aureus were reported to be involved and in many instances GD is believed to be a sequal to infectious bursal disease (IBD) or inclusion body hepatitis (IBH). Outbreaks of IBH and GD have been reported to be less in some areas following the successful control of IBD by vaccination (Gordon and Jordon, 1982). This paper describes an outbreak of GD in commercial growers and its control.
