Abstract
The proximate composition of whole sesame
seeds of genotyes under study contained: moisture, 9.3 to
10.9; crude fat, 46.6 to 52.4; crude fibre, 2.0 to 4.8 and
total carbohydrate, 7.3 to 12.2 percent. The genotype JLS-
9707-2 showed the highest oil content of 52.4 percent
followed by genotypes Hawari with 51.3 percent and JLT-7
with 50.3 percent. Thus, these genotypes appear to be
promising for oil content.
