Abstract
The experiment titled “Effect of growth regulators, macronutrients, biofertilizers and media on seedling growth of mango (Mangifera indica. L)” was conducted at College of Horticulture, UHS campus, Bengaluru during 2015-2016. Two set of experiments on seedling growth were conducted with growth regulators and foliar spray of macronutrients, whereas second set of experiment was conducted with media and biofertilizers. Seedling height (31.87 cm), girth (0.80 cm), number of leaves (16.82), leaf area (294.17), percent of graftable seedling (71.47 %), fresh and dry weight of seedlings (27.99 and 11.34 gm) and root parameters were found highest in GA3 150 ppm + NAA 150 ppm spray, whereas the seedlings raised in potting mixture of Red earth: FYM: Cocopeat + Biomix has recorded the highest seedling height (29.31 cm), girth (0.82 cm), number of leaves (15.60), leaf area (287.08), percent of graftable seedling (68.54 %), fresh and dry weight of seedlings (25.16 and 10.43 gm) and root parameters. The least was found in water spray and potting mixture of Red earth: FYM: Sand. The propogation of mango in combination of different media, biofertlizers and growth regulators was found economical. However the media containing Red earth: FYM: Cocopeat (2:1:1) + Biomix was found to be good for quality planting material of mango.
