Abstract
An experiment “Studies on combined effect of biofertilizers and bioagents on growth and yield of sweet sorghum” was carried out to study the effect of biofertilizers and bioagents on growth and yield parameters of sweet sorghum. This experiment was conducted during kharif of 2016-17 at Post Graduate Institute farm, Deptartment of Plant pathology and Agricultural Microbiology, Mahatma Phule Krushi Vidypeeth, Rahuri. For this experiment the Azospirillum, Phosphate Solubilizing Bacteria (PSB), Acetobactor and Trichoderma were isolated from sweet sorghum rhizosphere soil. Azospirillum cultures were maintained on Nitrogen free bromothymol blue (NFB) medium, PSB cultures were maintained on Pikovskaya’s agar medium and Trichoderma culture on Trichoderma selective medium (TSM). On the basis of biochemical parameters of identification the isolates were identified as Azospirillum, Phosphate Solubilizing Bacteria, Acetobactor and Trichoderm. In the studies on microbial population, it was observed that the Azospirillum, Phosphate Solubilizing Bacteria (PSB), Acetobactor and Trichoderma population per gram of soil have increased at 30, 60 and 90 DAS.
