Occurrence of Tracheophilus sp. in Khaki Campbell ducks (Anas platyrhynchos)

Abstract
Carcasses of adult female Khaki Campbell ducks with a history of sudden death on necropsy revealed the presence of live, bright red coloured flattened parasites of varying size. Parasitological examination revealed them to be digenetic trematode Tracheophilus sp. This appears to be the first report of the parasite from the Union Territory of Puducherry and Villupuram, Cuddalore districts of Tamil Nadu.
