Abstract
Ultrasonogaphy of the liver is now used
alone or in combination with other imaging
modalities as part of the routine diagnosis
of diseases. The indications for scanning
the biliary system in dogs are to rule out
extra hepatic dysfunction in icteric animals,
detect biliary calculi and visualize
thickening of the gall bladder wall or masses
associated with inflammatory or neoplastic
disease of gall bladder and biliary tract
(Nyland et aI., 1995).
