Abstract
A total of 241 milk samples from 209 mastitic (clinical -104 and subclinical -105) cases brought to TVCC, VC&RI, Namakkal from October 2016 to June 2017 were tested for the prevalence of mastitic bacterial pathogens E. coli, K.pneumoniae, Pseudomonas spp., Streptococcus spp. and S. aureus by isolation and identification by Gram’s staining. The prevalence was recorded to be 29.95 and 23.12 per cent for clinical and subclinical mastitis, respectively with an overall prevalence of 46.0 per cent mastitis at quarter level.
