Abstract
A field experiment entitled “Study on the performance, screening of tomato (Solanum lycopersicum L.) accessions on growth, yield and quality. ” was carried out to study the growth, yield, quality, screening of tomato accessions and bioefficacy of safe biopesticides on tomato leaf miner (Tuta absoluta Meyrick). Twenty eight genotypes of Tomato germplasm with Randomized Block Design with two replications and bioefficacy studies on the effect of safe biopesticides in Tuta absoluta using variety Laxmi during December, 2016 to April, 2017 at College of Horticulture, Rajendranagar, Hyderabad. The genotype EC-620467 recorded significantly highest plant height (37.13cm) at 30 DAT, EC-621496 (61.15cm) at 60 DAT, EC-621496 (87.70cm) at 90 DAT. The number of branches per plant was recorded highest in EC-617070 (10.25) at 30 DAT, EC-617070 (20.30) at 60 DAT, EC-621496 (26.30) at 90 DAT. The genotype EC-617069 (33.5) was recorded significantly early days to 50% flowering, genotype EC-617070 recorded higher number of clusters per plant (9.50), while the genotype EC-615065 recorded 41.50 days to first fruiting and 61.10 days to first harvest. : : MASTER OF SCIENCE IN HORTICULTURE Faculty : HORTICULTURE : VEGETABLE SCIENCE : Dr. CH.RAJA GOUD University : SRI KONDA LAXMAN TELANGANA STATE HORTICULTURAL UNIVERSITY. The total number of fruits was recorded significantly highest (58.34) in genotype EC-620559. Significantly highest fruit weight, yield per plant, yield per hectare was recorded in genotype EC-617070 (59.30gm), (3.74kg plant-1), (74.08 tonnes/ha.). Significantly higher TSS and Vitamin C was recorded in genotype EC-617069 (5.70) and (65.97) and highest Lycopene was recorded in EC-617070 (6.27). The number of Tomato pinworm larvae per plant differed significantly in all accessions. The genotype EC-617070 recorded the lowest number of larvae and active mines per plant and the highest number of larvae and active mines per plant was recorded in EC-620369. From overall standard meteorological weeks, the SMW 11 recorded the highest number of larvae and active mines per plant. Significantly lowest % damaged fruit weight, % damaged yield per plant and % number of damaged fruits was recorded in EC-617070. Significantly highest number of active mines per plant after 10 days of first spray was recorded in T3,Metarrhizium anisopleae (14.33) and the lowest was recorded in T5,Spinosad (10.67) while the active mines 10 days after second spray was recorded highest in T3,Metarrhizium anisopleae (8.40) and the lowest was recorded in T6,Chlorantraniliprole (7.26), while the active mines after 10 days after third spray was recorded highest in T3 Metarrhizium anisopleae (4.87) and the lowest was recorded in T5,Spinosad (2.87). The number of larvae per plant after 1st spray was lowest in T5, Spinosad 11.02 and the highest was recorded highest in T3,Metarrhizium anisopleae (14.46) while the number of larvae per plant after 2nd spray was lowest in T5 5.82 and the highest was recorded highest in T3,Metarrhizium anisopleae (8.20). The number of larvae per plant after 3rd spray was lowest in T5, Spinosad (2.35) and the highest number of larvae per plant was recorded highest in T3, Metarrhizium anisopleae (4.08). Significantly highest fruit weight was recorded in T5 Spinosad (47.50gm) and the highest damaged fruit weight was recorded in T3 Metarrhizium anisopleae (0.17) and the % damaged fruit weight was recorded in T5 and T6 (0.16). The higher yied per plant (2.65 kg/plant) and lowest damaged yield per plant (1.07 kg/plant) recorded in T5, Spinosad treatment. The highest number of fruits (38.87), lowest number of damaged fruits (2.60) and the % damage number of fruits (6.68) were recorded in T5, Spinosad treatment. From all the genotypes EC-617070 found to be best genotype for growth, yield and screening of tomato accessions while the genotype EC-617069 was best genotype with respect to quality parameters. The bioefficacy of biopesticides reported that the treatment Spinosad was effective against TLM, followed by Chlorantraniliprole.
