Abstract
Diallel analysis using ten parents was carried out with a view to
estimate heterosis, combining ability and nature of gene action in castor
(Ricinus communis L). An experimental material comprising of 56 entries,
consisting ten parents, fourty five hybrids and a standard check variety (GCH 4).
The experiment was conducted in randomized block design with three replication
at the Agronomy Instructional Farm, Chimanbhai Patel College of Agriculture,
Sardarkrushinagar Dantiwada Agricultural University, Sardarkrushinagar, during
Kharif2004-05.
