Abstract
Analysis of variance indicated significant differences among the
genotypes for all the characters. High magnitude of heterotic effects were
detected for seed yield per plant and its component traits under both the
conditions. Heterosis in seed yield per plant was reflected through heterosis in
number of pods per plant, pod length, biomass, numlJ(!r of branches per plant
and harvest index in most of the crosses. Significant heterosis over standard
check GC 4 was exhibited by most of the hybrids for different characters.
