Emergence of anthelmintic resistance in nematodes of sheep in Tamil Nadu

Abstract
Faecal egg count reduction test (FECRT) was conducted to study anthelmintic resistance in nematodes of two sheep flocks of Tamil Nadu. The anthelmintic drugs used in this study were fenbendazole at the dose rate of 100 mg kg‘ h.w. and tetramisole at the dose rate of 15 mg kg“ b.w. The study revealed confirmed resistance to fenbendazole and suspected resistance to tetramisole in nematode parasites of sheep in Tamil Nadu.
