Abstract
A 13 year-old bitch was brought for post-mortem examination with the history of tumour recurrence and seriously ill. Grossly, an ulcerated mass on the right carpal joint and erythematous nodules were seen around the primary mass. Subcutaneous nodules spread up to the right prescapular region. The cytological examination revealed discrete cells of uniform size containing fine to large cytoplasmic granules. Histologically, the neoplastic cells were arranged in closely packed sheets and contained metachromatic granules by toluidine blue staining. Based on the above findings it was diagnosed as mast cell tumour.
