MONITORING OF DITHIOCHRBAMATE RESIDUES IN APPLE AND TOMATO
    (UHF,NAUNI, 1998) KUMAR, NARESH; DUBEY, J K
the present investigations were carried out to standardize the technique for micro determination of dithocarvamate residue as well as to minatory the statues of dithiocarbamate residues in / on apple and tomato in Himachal Pradesh. the studies: revealed that CS2 liberated after acid hydrolysis forms methyl xanthate with methanolic KOH, shows peak in normal UV spectroscopy and a negative peak in second derivative UV spectroscopy at 302 nm. the coefficient of correlation for standard curve was found 0.9995 and the limit of detection was found 0.02ppm. Average recovery of mancozeb was between 92.17-93.93% in apple and tomato. Apple (92.16%) and tomato (80.39%) samples analysed were found contaminated with dithiocarbamate residues. residues detected were found in the range of 0..11-0.380 ppm and 0.013-0.251ppm in apple and tomato, respectively and none of the sample exceeded the prescribed MRL of 3ppm.
