In the transfer of technology to farmers in their respective areas, scientists working in KVKs play an important role. Despite the fact that they have so many technologies for farmers’ development, they cannot achieve the expected productivity and production of the target required to meet the demand of the world’s fast-growing second largest populated countries. This is because the researcher-extension agents-farmers are inappropriately linked. This is the main problem hence the scientific evaluation is carried out, i.e. “Role assessment of scientists working in KVKs of Gujarat” was carried out and the various factors affecting the scientists are understood. This study has enabled us to understand the various limitations of the system and helps to link the missing links between scientists and farmers in the transfer of technology to the farming community, and it will also help policymakers to bring desirable changes to the agricultural system in order to help the farming community.

(DEPARTMENT OF AGRICULTURAL EXTENSION AND COMMUNICATION B. A. COLLEGE OF AGRICULTURE ANAND AGRICULTURAL UNIVERSITY ANAND, 2019) CHETHAN PATIL N. D.; Dr. J. K. Patel
Human being a social animal, live together to meet their basic biological, social and economic needs through groups. Most of the world’s activity actually takes place in groups. It is therefore essential to learn the nature and formation of groups, what conditions facilitate their growth, what factors lead them to action, how group affects their behaviour, their member’s thinking motivation and many things can be called “group behavior”. As a group matures, a number of forces operate within it - physical, moral, social and economic - and affect the behavior of its members, ultimately affecting group productivity. The sum of all these forces contributing to a group's performance was called “group dynamics” by behaviorists. Before any intervention, the concept of self-help group exists. Common bonds such as caste, community, place of origin or activity connect the members of self-help groups. Self-help group dynamics is the interplay of forces that affect group performance between group members in social situations.

BENEFITS OF ICT AS PERCEIVED BY EXTENSION PERSONNEL WORKING AT KVKs OF GUJARAT
(DEPARTMENT OF EXTENSION EDUCATION B. A. COLLEGE OF AGRICULTURE ANAND AGRICULTURAL UNIVERSITY ANAND, 2018) Savalia Anand M.; Dr. Arun Patel
Agricultural extension is an educational service which brings information and new technologies for farming communities to improve their production, income and standard of living. Effective communication of farm information to the farmers is a key to socio-economic transformation of nation, particularly when the bulk of population is depending on farming. In India, where farmers live in less accessible and isolated villages, both on plains and hills, effective communication is more complicated. In this context, mass media can hopefully, be expected to cater the information need to a great extent to a large number of people. Among the different mass media such as radio, television, films and magazines, radio occupies a special status because of easy availability, low cost, wide adaptability as well as ability to reach a large section of population living in isolated communities.
