STUDIES ON THE FUNCTIONAL PROPERTIES OF CASEINOPHOSPHOPEPTIDES (CPPs) ISOLATED FROM DIFFERENT SOURCES
(Karnataka Veterinary Animal And Fisheries Sciences University, Bidar, 2005) PANKAJ CHETTRI., B. Tech (D. Tech)
Milk proteins are known for a wide range of nutritional, functional and biological activities that make them potential ingredients of health promoting foods. These properties are partially attributed to physiologically active peptides encrypted in the protein molecules. Such peptides are inactive within the sequence of native protein molecule and can be liberated during gastrointestinal digestion of milk by proteolytic en2ymes.

USE OF STAPHYLOCOCCUS PROTEIN-A AS AN IMMUNODIAQNOSTIC AGENT FOR IDENTIFICATION OF STAPHYLOCOCCUS MASTITIS
(Karnataka Veterinary Animal And Fisheries Sciences University, Bidar, 2005) PRADIP KUMAR DAS
The cow is a foster mother of human race. It does more to the human welfare than any other animal. The cows and buffaloes produce milk that has made important contributions to manâ s health and standard of living.

USE OF IMMUNODIAGNOSTIC METHODS FOR DIAGNOSIS OF CANINE PARVOVIRUS INFECTION
(Karnataka Veterinary Animal And Fisheries Sciences University, Bidar, 2005) MOHD. MUDASSAK CHANDA
Parvoviruses are among the smallest, simplest eukaryotic viruses and were only discovered in the 196Oâ s. They are widespread in nature. Canine parvovirus (CPV) is of great concern to veterinarians, pet owners and dog breeders. Canine parvovirus is a DNA virus with ~25nm in diameter, icosahedral symmetry. There are 3 capsid proteins VPl, VP2 and VP3. The canine parvovirus genome is linear, non-segmented, single stranded DNA of 5kb.

SURGICAL REPAIR OF MANDIBULAR FRACTURE BY WIRING,PMMA PLATE AND TITANIUM MINI PLATE IN DOGS
(Karnataka Veterinary Animal And Fisheries Sciences University, Bidar, 2005) MAHESH S.A.
Mandibular fracture repair presents several unique problems compared to long bone fractures. A mandible has a capability to withstand several forces when compared to weight bearing long bones. Presence of teeth in fracture line poses an additional problem. Loss of mandibular function results in lack of intake of fluid and food. The curved contour of mandible makes several orthopedic implants unsuitable for their application in mandibular fracture

STUDIES ON EFFECT OF AMMONIA IN COMMERCIAL BROILER CHICKEN AND ITS CONTROL
(Karnataka Veterinary Animal And Fisheries Sciences University, Bidar, 2005) K.S. HARSHA
Poultry industry is one of the fast growing agribased activity in India. In past three decade it has became one of the most dynamic and expeditious sector. In recent years there has been tremendous growth in broiler production and has entered the top 20 countries in the world. Intensive nature of poultry production has created conducive atmosphere for the spread of disease. With rising cost of labour and materials in the past few years poultry farmers are reusing the litter. This has lead to the high levels of ammonia (Reece et al., 1979). Poultry house has a complex dynamic system of social interactions, husbandry system, light, temperature and the aerial environment. In addition, the high stocking density in the modem poultry house may lead to reduced air quality with high concentration of aerial pollutants. Poultry are continuously exposed to ammonia and other noxious gases in poultry house. Continuous exposure of birds to these gases are known to affect not only production but also increases the susceptibility of birds to respiratory diseases.

PERFORMANCE OF STALL-FED GOAT KIDS WITH CONCENTRATE MIXTURES COMPRISED OF DETOXIFIED HONGE SEED IPONG/lll/IU GUBRB VENT] MEAL
(Karnataka Veterinary Animal And Fisheries Sciences University, Bidar, 2005) SONAL THAKUR
Efficient animal production in many parts of the world is limited due to chronic shortage of protein-rich and energy-rich feed resources. Seasonal variation in availability of feed resources has further worsened the situation especially in tropical countries like India

PATHOLOGY OF GOUT IN BROILER CHICKS
(Karnataka Veterinary Animal And Fisheries Sciences University, Bidar, 2005) PRATHAP KUMAR, S.M
The poultry farming activity in India has achieved phenomenal growth in the last few decades. This is well substantiated by the fact that egg and poultry meat production has raised from 5300 millions and 1,21,000 tonnes in 1970 to 34,034 millions and 42,00,000 tonnes respectively in 2002.

PATHOLOGY OF AFLATOXIN Bi IN CHICK EMBRYOS
(Karnataka Veterinary Animal And Fisheries Sciences University, Bidar, 2005) PRADEEP KUMAR RAY
Poultry industry has made tremendous progress in the country after independence. Indian Poultry Industry has grown rapidly at a rate of 15% to 20% during the last two decades and is now a Rs. 65 billion mega-industry providing employment to 1.5 million people. The future is even brighter with a growing domestic market, rapid industrialization and economic liberalization. Several breakthroughs in poultry science and technology have led to development of genetically superior birds capable of high production, even under adverse hot climate. The contribution of poultry as animal protein provider has been immense. In 2003 the egg production in India was 4,38,000 million or 3.9 per cent of total world production and meat production was 1.92 million tons or 3.0 per cent of world production. The contribution of poultry industry to gross national product is projected to touch Rs 60,000 crores by 2010 A.D.

PATHOLOGICAL STUDIES OF ENTERITIS IN BOVINES WITH SPECIAL REFERENCE TO JOHNEâ S DISEASE
(Karnataka Veterinary Animal And Fisheries Sciences University, Bidar, 2005) SATISH, B.M.
Enteric infections in cattle and buffaloes have been identified as the major constraints affecting performance, thus causing a great economic loss to the formers and to the meat industry. The enteric infections in the bovines are widespread and the influences of season, year, parity and level of inheritance on their incidence have been reported by several workers (Patil et al., 1992 and Rajesh Agarwal et al., 2002).
