The numerical changes in poultry production from 30 millions of birds in 1971 which has increased to about 500 millions by 2003 is almost seventeen fold increase and is marvelous. This growth in poultry production is predicted to reach a total number of 1000 million birds by 2012. Also, in our country, the poultry rearing that was primarily oriented towards egg production has diversified to new dimensions of layer and broiler production for the reason that the demand for animal protein has largely increased from human consumers.
