The world desperately needs more new protein production techniques, not only to increase the per capita availahility but also to help to fight against malnutrition especially following drought and crop failure, apart from providing many additional job opportunities. Among the meat producing animals, chicken meat has no religious taboos like pork or beef in India and moreover, it is also comparatively cheaper than chevon/ mutton (Sathe et al., 2002).ThesisItem Open Access STUDIES ON EFFECT OF DIETARY SUPPLEMENTATION OF PuLViS CURCUMA LONGA ON THE PERFORMANCE OF BROILER RABBITS UNDER SUMMER STRESS(Karnataka Veterinary Animal And Fisheries Sciences University, Bidar, 2008) BASAVARAJ M.Rearing of rabbits has an economic importance in developing countries mainly for meat production (F.A.0.1987). Commercial rabbit production has been gaining much attention in recent years due to their high prolificacy, rapid growth rate, small body size and high meat yields.ThesisItem Open Access EFFECT OF FONG TERM FEEDING OF SAFT TREATED CASTOR RICINUS COMMUNIS BEAN MEAL BASED CONCENTRATE MIXTURE ON THE PERFORMANCE OF STALL FED LAMBS(Karnataka Veterinary Animal And Fisheries Sciences University, Bidar, 2010) S. The rate of growth in the recent past had been very impressive in that India has reached the position in 2003 from a staggering 20^^^ position in the year 2000 in the world chicken meat production (Watt, 2004). The present day broiler is like a machine growing from about 45 g body weight on day one to about 2 kg body weight in 40 days time, which is nearly 44 times its initial body weight. The magnitude of growth indicates that every day in the life of a broiler is very important to achieve the target. As a result, the feeding and health management of birds assume significance.ThesisItem Open Access PRELIMINARY STUDY ON THE EFFECT OF HUMIC ACID RASED PRODUCT THROUGH WATER IN RROILERS(Karnataka Veterinary Animal And Fisheries Sciences University, Bidar, 2006) RAMESH, CFarm animals of modern breed have a considerable genetic potential to produce high amount of meat, milk and eggs. Quality and safety of these food products depends upon other factors like proper herd management, quality of feed and feeding regimes. P'or Feed quality, feed additives play an important role to sustain optimum growth, economical feed conversion and control diseases. Optimal dosing of feed additives and their compatibility with other veterinary therapeutics deserve specific attention to maintain their beneficial effects in different aspects of the present day farming conditions.ThesisItem Open Access PERFORMANCE OF STALL-FED GOAT KIDS WITH CONCENTRATE MIXTURES COMPRISED OF DETOXIFIED HONGE SEED IPONG/lll/IU GUBRB VENT] MEAL(Karnataka Veterinary Animal And Fisheries Sciences University, Bidar, 2005) SONAL THAKUREfficient animal production in many parts of the world is limited due to chronic shortage of protein-rich and energy-rich feed resources. Seasonal variation in availability of feed resources has further worsened the situation especially in tropical countries like India
