    Egg drop syndrome - I976 (EDS-'76) of poullry, u viral disease of significant economic importance has been reported from all pans of world including India. where its sero-prevalence in poultry flocks was first detected by Mohanty et al., (1984). ln Tamil Nadu a wide spread prevalence of EDS-’76 antibody was recorded in 8 districts by Shaw et al., (1995). Since, Coimbatore: district is thickly populated with broiler breeders, a sero-epidemiological investigation on the incidence of EDS-’76 was undertaken by using conventional haemagglutination inhibition (H1) test.
