A CRITICAL STUDY OF CHARISMATIC CHRISTIANITY IN CONTEMPORARY GHANA
(GOSPEL & PLOUGH INSTITUTE OF THEOLOGY SAM HIGGINBOTTOM UNIVERSITY OF AGRICULTURE, TECHNOLOGY & SCIENCES PRAYAGRAJ 2018, 2018) BAFFOUR, AMPATE KODUAH; Saxena, Rev Dr. Samuel Richmond
Pentecostalism/Charismaticism is a movement that is inspired by the Holy Spirit. It differs from other streams of Christianity by its affirmation and conscious promotion of the experience of the Holy Spirit in Church life. Pentecostal-Charismatic Christianity has become very popular in Ghana. Let me use the words of Anderson who says Pentecostalism suggesting also Charismaticism has become a big business. Whichever town or village that you visit in Ghana, you will notice warehouses, museums, cinema halls, classrooms, tents etc being converted to worship centres for Pentecostal and Charismatic Christians. Anderson points out that West Africa(Ghana inclusive) is one of the hot spots of the world, as far as Pentecostalism and Charismaticism is concerned, which has rapidly become one of the most prominent and influential religious movement across this region. In a similar development, Asamoah-Gyadu points out that there has been a shift of the centre of gravity of Christianity in the twentieth century from the North to the South with Pentecostal-Charismatic Christianity; the religion of the Holy Spirit representing the most concrete evidence of the phenomenal expansion of Christianity in African countries like Ghana. The emphasis of Pentecostal-Charismatic Christianity is their dependence on the Holy Spirit and the practice of the Spiritual gifts. The Holy Spirit baptism opens the door for believers to enter the spiritual realm for the operation of the gifts of the Spirit. The Holy Spirit blesses our lives with mighty deposit of divine ability. This study seeks to examine contemporary Charismatic Christianity in Ghana in order to open up the challenges and problems posed by the movement for further scholarly investigation.

CHALLENGES EXPERIENCED BY THE NORTHEAST MIGRANTS IN BANGALORE: TOWARDS A THEOLOGY OF HOSPITALITY
(Sam Higginbottom University of Agriculture, Technology & Sciences Allahabad- 211007, U.P., India, 2019) Yeptho, Anati K.; Sahu, Dr. D. K.
Abstract Migration of people has increased at an alarming rate and it has become an inevitable phenomenon across the globe. Among these, the trends of migration of people from the northeast states to metro cities in India have become an everyday mode. Many people from the northeast migrate to Bangalore to seek for job opportunities. One major challenging aspect face by the northeast migrants is discrimination based on ethnic appearance, coupled with various challenges related to work; non-payment of salary, insecurity, harassment, and various other vulnerable situations that affect migrants‟ life. Amidst these alarming situations, hospitality in welcoming all people is of much importance in considering migration. This thesis makes use of Social Analysis as a methodological tool of investigation to identify the issues, causes and factors leading to migration in Bangalore. The study also employs experience and action-reflection as a starting point for praxis that is both transformative and liberating. Taking into account the complexity of the northeast migrant‟s experiences and increasing acts of racism and hostility, the biblical concept of hospitality and its implication on loving and extending hospitality to the strangers is very significant when one consider applying to the northeast migrating people who are considered as „strangers‟ or „others.‟ At the same time, reciprocal in hospitality between migrating and receiving community is crucial. This thesis argues that hospitality needs to be understood within the wider concept of God‟s gracious hospitality. God‟s hospitality embodied in Jesus‟ love and welcome for all people then envisions a new community based upon the values of mutuality, acceptance and reciprocal partnership. Thus, by affirming and engaging in such inclusiveness, reciprocal hospitality can become truly life affirming initiatives for all people in the face of migration.

A CRITICAL STUDY OF CONTEXTUAL THEOLOGIES WITH SPECIAL REFERENCE TO GONDS
(Faculty of Theology Gospel & Plough Institute of Theology Sam Higginbottom University of Agriculture, Technology & Sciences, Allahabad, UP. India, 2018) SINGH, VIMAL KANT; Sahu, Dr. Dhirendra Kumar
The word „Contextualization‟ is termed as ―incarnation,‖ ―indigenization,‖ ―inculturation‖, and ―local‖. The very act of creation depicts the engagement of God in the world and above all the incarnation is the supreme act of God becoming human being as ‗Jesus of Nazareth‟. He sent His disciples to all over the world to accomplish mission of His saving act for the salvation of the whole creation; but major challenge lies that how to imply the Gospel to a cultural context without diluting its true meaning effectively. The missionaries commonly ignored Asian or Indian spirituality, aspiration and frustration. The local folk story, music, songs, culture and traditions were generally considered as heathen. More over, the contributions to Indian Christian theology in the past came from the high caste converts perpetuated to Brahmanic theology. However, Asian and Indian contextual theologies emphasized on social, political and economical issues of oppressed, exploited and raised voice for their liberation. This research focuses on Gondwana contextual theology it is an evolving theology emerging from Adivasi Gonds of Madhya Pradesh, commonly known as mool – Adivasi original inhabitant of India, speak Gondi and live fairly enough in isolation from the caste dominant system of Indian history. Gondi folk stories carry valuable characteristics of Lingo, a liberator of Gond community. He was killed by his Gond brothers but God revived Lingo with His nectar. Lingo after founding Gond society went back to His gods. The Gonds of Dori and surrounding villages still live in poverty; they are under privileged, surrounded by caste system, injustice and exploitation. An action oriented theology like Gospel and Plow‘ can be one of the tools for their transformation as Gonds who are proud to be called as Koiture means people of the earth, they sing a song “Deval ka danda, Dharti, Mutva Dev, Kond ro Deval ko danda,Dharti Matal Ki Sewa Dev Sewa. Gonds believe Earth belongs to God and He revolves it with his stick according to His wish. Gonds greet each other by saying Sewa means service; let us serve the earth as we are made of earth and the Service to earth is a real service to God therefore Gospel and Plough or any other method can be helpful for transformation of Gonds.
