    Groundnut (Arachis hypogaea) is one of the most important oilseed crops in India. The groundnut crop plays significant role in the edible oilseed economy of India. Besides, being a source of good quality cooking oil, the seeds of groundnut also provide expeller and extraction-cakes which are very rich in protein and used extensively as animal feed supplement. In India, though groundnut is cultivated in one or more seasons (Kharif, Rabi and Summer) nearly 80% of annual acreage and production comes from Kharif crop (June-October). Groundnut contains remarkable protein content (26%) i.e., more than meat and eggs. As it is an oil seed crop, contains 40-49 % oil content. Groundnut is a good source of mineral ions like Phosphorus, Iron, Calcium, Boron and Zinc. It also contains Vitamin E and B complex.

    “Unless farming becomes both intellectually stimulating and economically rewarding, it will be difficult to attract or retain rural youth in farming” - Dr. M.S. Swaminathan 1.1 Background Information It is anticipated that global population is likely to increase to 9 billion by 2050, where in youth can contribute to 14 per cent of this total. Rural population in India is 68 per cent (90.22 crores) of which 28 per cent (35.6 crore) are youth in the age group of 10-24 years. India can be called as a relatively young nation across the globe. It is disheartening that 2 million young people are unemployed and this rate is getting multiplied every year. It further leads to tremendous cost causing social unrest and dislocation.

    “India accounts for only about 2.4% of the world’s geographical area and 4% of its water resources, but has to support about 17% of the world’s human population and 15% of the livestock”(Anonymous, 2019-2020). Being the largest component of India's economy, agriculture is of utmost importance for the vast number of people. Agriculture sector employees 50% of workforce and share of agriculture and allied sectors the total (Including agriculture, livestock, forestry and fishery sub sectors) in terms of percentage of Gross Domestic Product was 20.2% during 2020-21 at current prices. Information is increasingly being used in many facets of human activity. Educational technology began with chalk and blackboard and has progressed to include the most advanced expert system with multimedia that incorporates a variety of media combinations accessible in communication. The world is witnessing a revolution in Information and Communication Technology (ICT), which is resulting in the rapid and accurate transmission of messages from source to recipient. Dennis Stevenson's report for the UK government in 1997 was the first to use the term “information and communication technology". ICT is defined as the integration of information technology (IT) with media broadcasting technologies, audio/video processing and transmission, and telephony.
