Abstract
Among the cereals, rice is the most important crop with high acceptability and
wider use. The present investigation was carried out with 49 genotypes of rice in a
randomized complete block design with three replications at Main Rice Research Station,
Anand Agricultural University, Nawagam during kharif 2020. The objectives of the
present investigation were to estimate the nature and magnitude of variability present in
rice germplasm with respect to yield, quality and yield attributing traits, to investigate the
genotypic and phenotypic correlation between yield and other yield contributing
characters, to determine the direct and indirect effects of different characters on yield per
plant using path coefficient analysis and molecular characterization of rice genotypes by
SSR markers.
