Abstract
The present investigation comprised of 45 F1S developed from ten
parents through diallel mating design excluding reciprocals in tomato
(Lycopersicum esculentum Mill.) was undertaken at Main Vegetable Research
Station, Anand Agricultural University, Anand during kharif planting crop season
of the year 2003-04. The experimental material (45 F1S, 10 parents and one check
hybrid ARTH-4) was evaluated in randomized complete block design with three
replications. The main objective of the investigation was to study heterosis, gene
effects and combining ability effects of fruit yield and various yield as well as
quality characters
