Agrochemicals are basically the chemical products that consists of fertilizers, plant-protection chemicals, and plant-growth hormones which are widely used in agriculture. Modern agriculture is largely reliant on the usage of various agrochemicals, which play an important role in increasing the efficiency and cost-effectiveness of crop production in order to fulfil the food demands of the world's rapidly growing population (Pal et al., 2006). Agrochemicals are widely employed in agriculture to bridge the gap between food production and consumption in order to meet rising food demand. According to a study published in the journal Nature, Ecology & Evolution, pathogens and pests are causing global wheat losses ranging from 10% to 28%, rice losses ranging from 25% to 41%, maize losses ranging from 20% to 41%, potato losses ranging from 8% to 21%, and soybean losses ranging from 11% to 32% (Savary et al., 2019). In order to make agriculture more productive and profitable, the intensity of crop protection has increased significantly, as seen by a 15-20-fold increase in pesticides usage around the world.
