Vegetables are essential and integral part of day - to - day diet of Indian population as it contains most of the essential biochemicals and nutrients such as carbohydrates, proteins, ascorbic acid, carotene, vitamin, iron and traces of other minerals. Green chilli, okra and brinjal are the most commonly consumed vegetables which are cultivated throughout the country. Insect pest infestation is one of the limiting factors in accelerating the yield potential of these vegetables. The major insect pests are fruit and shoot borer, jassids, aphids, leaf miner etc. To combat the insect pests, farmers mainly rely on chemical control.en_US
