Abstract
The present investigation entitled “Nitrogen management for enhancing
productivity and quality of finger millet. (Eleusine coracana (L.) Gaertn)” was
carried out at the College Agronomy Farm, B. A. College of Agriculture, Anand
Agricultural University, Anand during kharif season of the year 2019. The soil of the
experimental plot was loamy sand in texture having good drainage with 7.21 pH. The
soil was low in organic carbon and available nitrogen, while medium in available
phosphorus and available potash.
The experiment comprised of nine treatments and was laid out in randomized
block design with four replications. The details of nine treatments are as follows, T1 -
RDN 40 kg ha-1, T2- 50% N through FYM + 50% N through fertilizer, T3- 50% N
through vermicompost + 50% N through fertilizer, T4- 50% N through NADEP
compost + 50% N through fertilizer, T5 - 50% N through poultry manure + 50% N
through fertilizer, T6 - 25% N through FYM + Azosprillum + 50% N through
fertilizer, T7 - 25% N through vermicompost +Azosprillum + 50% N through
fertilizer, T8 - 25% N through NADEP compost +Azosprillum + 50% N through
fertilizer, T9 - 25% N through poultry manure + Azosprillum + 50% N through
fertilizer.
