Abstract
A field experiment entitled “Studies on the influence of growth regulators and chemicals on the fruitfulness of grapes cv. 2A Clone” was carried out during 2014-2015 in the grape vineyard at Division of Fruit Science, sector no. 70, University of Horticultural Sciences, Bagalkot. The experiment consisted of fourteen treatments (T1 - Control (without spray) ; T2 - CCC 250 ppm; T3 - CCC 500 ppm; T4 - CCC 750 ppm; T5 - Uracil 50 ppm; T6 - Uracil 100 ppm; T7 - MH 500 ppm; T8 - CCC 250 ppm + Uracil 50 ppm; T9 - CCC 250 ppm + Uracil 100 ppm; T10 - CCC 500 ppm + Uracil 50 ppm; T11- CCC 500 ppm + Uracil 100 ppm; T12 - CCC 750 ppm + Uracil 50 ppm; T13 - CCC 750 ppm + Uracil 100 ppm and T14 - MH 500 ppm + Uracil 100 ppm) and was laid out in Randomized Block Design with three replications. Among the different treatments, vines treated with CCC 750 ppm were recorded minimum internodal length (4.18 cm), maximum girth of the fruiting shoot (0.55 cm) and early panicle emergence (16.03 days). Maximum bunches per cane (1.67), per vine (67.06), berry weight (2.25 g), length (1.88 cm) and width of berry (1.62 cm), berry volume (1.58 cm3), bunch yield (21.23 kg/vine, 45.95 t/ha), TSS (22.01 °Brix), TSS to acid ratio (37.53), total sugars (21.50%), reducing sugar (19.60%) and duration of maturity (90.00 days). However, maximum bunch weight (371.33 g), bunch length (21.12 cm), bunch width (15.07 cm) and berries per bunch (165.80) were recorded in control vines and highest acidity (0.86%) was observed in MH 500 ppm treatment.
