The present studies on "Evaluation of newly developed CGMS based pigeon pea (Cajanus cajan (L.)Millsp.) hybrids for physiological parameters" involved the study on growth and development characters, phonological development, biochemical character, yield and yield contributing characters. The material used were ten pigeon pea hybrids and two checks (BSMR -736, GTH (C) 1). The experiment was conducted in a randomized block design with three replications. The checks BSMR -736 showed better performance for all the characters than all other hybrids and checks. These studies indicated that among all genotypes check BSMR-736 performed better than all other hybrids and checks during the peak growth period. It was also seen that the pigeon pea genotypes with higher total dry matter content, number of pods per plant, number of seeds per pod, test weight, more harvest index, leaf area and LAI showed better performance with regard to yield.en_US
