Abstract
The State Agricultural Universities have been established in India as
academic institutions of higher learning with added responsibility for transforming the
lives of rural people through its functions of teaching, research and extension. The
SAUs perform the functions of imparting education in agriculture and allied science for
improving manpower quality in consonance with the needs of rural and
farming community. Thus, the higher agricultural education is a very important system
for the development of farming and rural areas of the India. The development of farmers
and farming is only possible through the development of rural India. It is important to
develop human resource through higher agricultural education with positive feelings and
zeal to work for farmers while residing with them in rural area as trainers, extension
personnel, entrepreneurs, researchers, educationists or workforce in any of the
developmental organizations.
