A retrospective analysis of the physiological basis of yield improvement may provide an understanding of yield potential in maize. For this purpose, a field experiment was conducted during Kharif season of the year 2010 at Department of Agricultural Botany, Anand Agricultural University, Anand to study the growth parameters of maize at different growth stages and to illustrate the variability exiting in the physiological attributes towards grain growth and development, among the genotypes. The experimental material comprised of six (GM 2, GM 3, GM 4, GM 6, Narmada Moti and HQPM 1) maize genotypes and experiment was laid out in randomized block design with four replications. The findings of present investigation indicated that the maximumen_US
