Abstract
An experiment was carried out under two location, one was Research farm of Department of
Agronomy and other was screen house CCS HAU Hisar. In the study, efficacy of herbicide mixtures
and their effect on growth and yield of wheat crop was observed. At 60 DAS minimum population
of P. minor was recorded in pinoxaden + ally express 50 % DF (metsulfuron+carfentrazone) @ 50 +
25 g/ha 35 DAS which was statistically similar to pendimethalin + pyroxasulfone @ 1000 + 106
g/ha PRE and pendimethalin + pyroxasulfone @ 1000 + 127.5 g/ha PRE. Tank mix application of
pendimethalin + pyroxasulfone @ 1000 + 106 g/ha PRE and pendimethalin + pyroxasulfone @
1000 + 127.5 g/ha PRE were superior compared to their alone application. Pendimethalin @ 1.5
kg/ha PRE was least effective on A. ludoviciana but its tank mixture with other herbicides
significantly lowered the population of A. ludoviciana. There was no crop phytotoxicity observed
under any applied herbicides. Among herbicidal treatments maximum number of tillers (181.0 and
178.6 no/m
2
) were observed under pendimethalin + pyroxasulfone @ 1000 + 127.5 g/ha PRE and
pendimethalin + pyroxasulfone @ 1000 + 106 g/ha PRE treatment, respectively at 90 DAS.
Flufenacet @ 400 g/ha PRE used alone or as tank mixture provided lower control compared to
pyroxasulfone @ 127.5 g/ha PRE used alone or as tank mix partner with other herbicides 2 & 3
WAT at screen house. Weed dry weight was found to be nil at 5WAT as there was complete
mortality of resistant as well as suceptible populations under screen house. Among mixed herbicide
treatments, the lowest biological yield (115.3 q/ha) was recorded in metribuzin + flufenacet @ 140 +
300 g/ha 17 DAS treatment. Highest grain yield, maximum net return and maximum B:C ratio was
obtained under pinoxaden + ally express 50 % DF (metsulfuron+carfentrazone) @ 50 + 25 g/ha 35
DAS fb pendimethalin + pyroxasulfone @ 1000 + 127.5 g/ha PRE treatment.
