Abstract
A field experiment was conducted at College of Agronomy Farm, B. A. College of Agriculture, Anand Agricultural University, Anand, Gujarat, India during rabi summer seasons of the years 2019-20 and 2020-21 to study the “Effect of sources of potash on yield and quality of rabi maize (Zea mays L.) and their residual effect on succeeding summer groundnut (Arachis hypogaea L.)”. The experimental field had an even topography with a gentle slope having good drainage and loamy sand in texture. The soil of the experimental field at 0-15 cm depth was low in organic carbon and available nitrogen, medium in available phosphorus and potassium and slightly alkaline in reaction. The fourteen different sources and doses of potash treatments viz; Control (Without potash fertilizers) (T1), 30 kg K2O /ha through MOP (T2), 30 kg K2O /ha through SOP (T3), 30 kg K2O /ha through Schoenite (T4), 30 kg K2O /ha through MOP + KMB @ 1 lit/ha (T5), 30 kg K2O /ha through SOP + KMB @ 1 lit/ha (T6), 30 kg K2O /ha through Schoenite + KMB @ 1 lit/ha (T7), 45 kg K2O /ha through MOP (T8), 45 kg K2O /ha through SOP (T9), 45 kg K2O /ha through Schoenite (T10), 45 kg K2O /ha through MOP + KMB @ 1 lit/ha (T11), 45 kg K2O /ha through SOP + KMB @ 1 lit/ha (T12), 45 kg K2O /ha through Schoenite + KMB @ 1 lit/ha (T13) and Foliar spray of Schoenite @ 1.5 % at 30 & 60 DAS (T14) were studied under randomized block design (RBD) with three replications. Maize var. GAYMH 3 was taken as rabi maize crop followed by succeeding summer groundnut var. GG 34.
