Freshwater is a limited natural resource in the world which is very essential for the existence of human life. In the present world, the major portion of freshwater is withdrawn for irrigation. The main reason behind irrigation is to keep soil moisture at an adequate level for a favourable environment for crops. A drip irrigation system can be automatized by using different soil moisture sensors and controllers. Recent advancements in sensors and microcontroller boards led to precision in drip irrigation systems. Artificial intelligence created advance decision making systems for automation.en_US
