dc.description.abstractThe study was conducted in purposely selected Raichur and Gulbarga districts of Hyderabad-Karnataka region of Karnataka to know the extent of awareness, adoption and comparative performance of different IFS modules at farmers’ field. Raichur district comprises of 5 taluks and Gulbarga district comprises of 7 taluks. From each taluk 10 respondents were selected based on simple random sampling. Thus, 120 respondents constituted the sample for the study and data was collected by personal interview method. The study revealed that, Majority (90.83 %) of the respondents were aware about crop production + dairy + vegetables, as high as 91.67 per cent of the respondents’ source of awareness about different IFS modules was agricultural university. With regard to modules for irrigated conditions, majority of the respondents were aware about crop production + dairy module. With respect to IFS modules for dryland conditions, majority of the respondents adopted the crop production + goat rearing + vermicompost model. With regard to IFS modules for irrigated conditions, crop production + dairy module was adopted by 70.00 per cent of the respondents. Majority of the respondents belonged to the middle aged category (between 31 to 50 years), small land holders category and high income group. Majority of the respondents belonged to medium farming experience category with large size family. Majority of the respondents belonged to medium scientific orientation category. Cent per cent of the respondents perceived increased land productivity, maintenance of good soil health, employment generation and creation of pollution free environment as the major advantages / benefits of IFS modules. With respect to net returns, in dryland conditions, Crop production + Sheep + Silvi pasture module recorded higher net returns of Rs. 1,03,375. In irrigated conditions, with respect to net returns, Crop production + Dairy + Vermicompost unit recorded highest net returns of Rs. 1,03,850.en_US
