Bifenthrin (2-methyl-3-phenylbenzyl (1RS) -cis - 3 - (2- chloro - 3, 3, 3 trifluoroprop-1-enyl) -2,2-dimthylcyclo-propanecarboxylate) is a third generation member of the pyrethroid family. It is an insecticide and acaricide which affects the nervous system and causes paralysis in insects. Bifenthrin is used both in agriculture to control sucking and biting insects like aphids, white fly, colorado beetle in various crops and in public health applications (mainly as emulsifiable concentrates or wettable powder), against mosquitoes, houseflies, cockroaches etc.en_US
