Abstract
Studies on variability, character association and genetic divergence
analysis were carried out with 79 genotypes of mungbean during Kharif-2017
under irrigated normal soil and water situation at College of agriculture,
Swami Keshwanand Rajasthan Agricultural University, Bikaner. The analysis
of variance revealed significance differences among genotypes for all 11
characters studied. These genotypes were grouped into 15 clusters using
Mahalanobis’s D2 statistic and Tocher’s method which is indicating the
existence of ample amount of genetic diversity in the germplasm and
therefore, signifying the scope of selection for genetic improvement of
mungbean.
