Abstract
Brinjal or Eggplant (Solanum melongena L.) is an important
vegetable crop and cultivated in India as one of the leading and the
second major vegetable crop next to tomato. It belongs to the family of
‘Solanaceae’. Among the fungal diseases, damping-off caused by
Pythium aphanidermatum (Edson) Fitzp in nurseries is a major
constraint in brinjal production. In view of the seriousness of the
damping-off disease in brinjal nursery, it was decided to carry out
research work on mentioned aspects to device appropriate approaches
for its management.
