Abstract
A field experiment was conducted on loamy sand soil at the Main Forage
Research Station, Anand Agricultural University, Anand to study the “Performance of
dual purpose barley (Hordeum vulgare L.) under different nitrogen levels and cutting
management Variety RD-2552”, during rabi 2016-17.
Twelve treatment combinations comparing of four levels of nitrogen (60, 80,
100 and 120 kg ha-1) and three cutting management C1: cut at 40 DAS and leave for
seed production, C2: cut at 50 DAS and leave for seed production, C3: cut at 60 DAS
and leave for seed production were tested in randomized block design (Factorial) with
four replication. The soil of experimental site was loamy sand in texture having good
drainage and moisture retention capacity. The experimental site was low in organic
carbon and available N medium P and K.
