Abstract
In many developing countries including India, agricultural extension programme is transforming and looking forward for a participatory approach that act in response to the multifarious and site-specific needs of the farmers. Farmer Field School (FFS) is regarded as the most effective extension approach. It is communitybased practically oriented field programme, which provide opportunity to the farmers to learn, test and adapt practises through practical and hands-on method of discovery learning. FFS approach emphasize on observation, discussion, analysis and collective decision making. The approach aims to build self-confidence, participation and interaction of member farmer. In this approach, an extension worker is regarded as facilitator. Thus, FFS is regarded as ‘School without walls’.
