Intensive agriculture led green revolution practices has depleted nutrient reserves of soils. In the era of green revolution, cultivation of high yielding varieties and use of high analysis fertilizers has accelerated the removal of micronutrients from the soils. Among the micronutrients, Zn deficiency in soils is the most detrimental to crop growth, production and yield of all cereal crops (Alloway, 2008). Zn deficient soils are regarded as the fifth leading risk factor in developing Asian countries and efforts are underway for encouraging Zn fertilization not only from the view point of getting higher yields but also for increasing Zn concentration in grain and straw to improve human and animal Zn nutrition. Studies are conducted to understand the compatibility and feasibility of developing urea enriched or infused or coated with Zn fertilizers; which may prove economical as well as efficient in sustainable agriculture. Looking to above scenario, an experiment was undertaken to evaluate the effect of zinc coated urea on growth, yield and zinc content in wheat.en_US
