Abstract
The field investigation entitled “Nutrient management of hybrid
sunflower (LSFH-35) in rabi season under irrigated condition” was
conducted at Oilseeds Research Station, Latur. The experimental field was
leveled and well drained. The soil was clayey in texture, low in nitrogen,
medium in phosphorus and alkaline in reaction. The environmental
conditions prevailed during experimental period was favourable for
normal growth and maturity of sunflower crop.
The experiment was laid out in a randomized block design with
nine treatment combinations. Each experimental unit was repeated three
times. Sowing was done on lstNovember, 2009 by dibbling the seeds at
spacing 60 cm x 30 cm. The recommended cultural practices and plant
protection measures were taken. The treatments are 100 per cent NP, 50
per cent, 100 per cent RDF, 150 per cent RDF, RDF + S @ 20 Kg ha'1,
RDF + S + B @ 10 Kg ha'1, RDF + S + B + Zn @ 20 Kg ha'1, RDF + S +
Zn @ 20 Kg ha'1 and control treatment. As per fertilizer treatments 50 Per
cent dose of nitrogen along with full dose of phosphorus and potassium
was applied as a basal dose and remaining 50 per cent dose of nitrogen
was applied at 30 days after sowing.
The application of RDF along with sulphur @ 20 kg ha'1 recorded
the higher all growth, yield and quality attributes viz, plant height, number
of functional leaves, leaf area, stem girth, head diameter, total dry matter,
filled seed plant'1, seed yield plant'1,1000 seed weight, seed yield kg ha'1
(1300 kg ha 1), oil content, oil yield kg ha'1, followed by the application of
150 per cent RDF.
