Abstract
Increasing world population is attracting the attention of
researchers towards improved agricultural practices. Since
many crops are susceptible to the infection caused by
microbial pathogens and thereby, reduction in overall yield is
observed. Application of agrochemicals to control pathogensrelated
damage to crops has become a serious threat to the
environment and has several negative effects on health. Use
of plant growth promoting bacteria (PGPB) with antifungal
properties has become an attractive alternative in comparison
to the use of synthetic chemicals and hence, interest to use
bio-control agents against plant pathogens has been
increased.
Endophytic bacteria have promise to be practically used
