Seed-borne pathogens play a vital role In causing diseases of okra crop. With a view to study mycoflora and their role seven seed samples were tested for assooiated fungi. The isolation was made tm potato Dextrose Agar with and without pretreatment with 0.1 per cent mereuric chloride. In all 8 £ungi were detected, out of which species of fusarium, Rhizoctonia and Altenaria were found highly pathogenic which caused heavy emergence loss both under laboratory and glass-house conditions. In order to find out immediate control of this pathogenic fungi, 11 seed dressers were tested for their efficacy in laboratory conditions. Ceresan dry, Bavistin, Benlate, Brassicol and Thiram were found effective in checking emergence loss under laboratory conditions. These effective fungicides tested as seed dressers in glass house conditions. The results obtained from both the experiments revealed that Ceresan dry 0.2 per cent was the most effective seed dresser in controlling emergence loss due to pathogenic seed mycoflora, viz. Fusarium spp., Rhizoctonia spp. and Alternaria spp.en_US
