dc.description.abstract | The experiment was conducted on effect of mulberry leaf dipping in various nutritional ingredients on silkworm at Department of Agricultural Entomology, College of Agriculture, Latur. The experiment was conducted during January - February 2014 using CSRi double hybrid silkworm. The laboratory experiment was conducted in randomized block design with three replications. The significantly shortest larval duration (28.76 days), highest moth emergence (95.66 per cent ), highest fecundity (577.33 eggs) and highest egg hatching percentage (96.16 per cent) were noticed in treatment T3 i.e. mulberry leaves dipped in 0.2 % N + 0.1% P + 0.3 % K + 0.2 % ascorbic acid (Vit. C). The significantly highest weight of ten matured larvae (48.61 g),lowest disease incidence (1.34 per cent), highest effective rate of rearing (ERR)(98.66 per cent), single cocoon weight (1.98 g), single shell weight (0.39 g), cocoon yield per 10000 larvae brushed (18.50 kg), cocoon filament length (976.33 m) and cocoon filament weight (0.250 g) were recorded in silkworm larval fed mulberry leaves dipped in 0.2 % N + 0.1% P + 0.3 % K + 0.2 % ascorbic acid (Vit. C). The significantly lowest pupal duration (11.75 days) were recorded in silkworm larvae fed with mulberry leaves dipped in 0.2 % N + 0.1 %P + 0.3 %K. The significantly highest denier value (2.386) recorded in silkworm larvae fed with mulberry leaves dipped in 0.2 % N + 0.1 % P + 0.3 % K + 0.15 % Manganese (Mn) + 0.1% Calcium (Ca). The highest cocoon- shell ratio (20.95 per cent) recorded in silkworm larvae fed mulberry leaves dipped in 0.2 % N + 0.1 % P + 0.3 % K + 0.15 % Manganese (Mn). | en_US |
