The present investigation was conducted to analyze the communication behaviour of farm women regarding household messages in print media. A total of 200 farm women from five agro-climatic zones of Punjab state who were subscribers of selected newspapers and farm magazine constituted the sample for the study. Data were collected through a well structured and pre tested interview schedule. The study reported that majority of the respondents had high level of mass media usage. Regarding the communication behaviour, medium level of reading and utilization was observed for majority of the respondents. However, low level of processing and dissemination was found for maximum number of respondents. The parameter on feedback was reported by nearly twenty per cent of the respondents. Further, it was revealed that a high percentage of respondents falls under moderate category of overall communication behaviour and negligible percentage of the respondents were found under high category of communication behaviour. Independent variables such as age, educational level, size of family and participation in various social activities or events were positively correlated with reading behaviour, processing behaviour, utilization behaviour, dissemination behaviour and overall communication behaviour. Moreover, Processing behaviour, utilization behaviour, dissemination behaviour and overall communication behaviour were also positively and significantly correlated with each other. Thus, the respondents exhibited differential communication behaviour regarding the selected print media which indicated that transfer of household messages through print media could be strengthened to disseminate scientific information to rural women.en_US
