| dc.description.abstract | A field experiment was conducted at the College Agronomy Farm, B. A. College of Agriculture, Anand Agricultural University, Anand (Gujarat) entitled “Response of semi rabi pearl millet (Pennisetum glaucum) to sowing time, spacing and sowing method” during semi rabi season of the years 2016-17 and 2017-18. The soil of the experimental site was loamy sand, locally known as “Goradu” soil. The Goradu soil is of alluvial in origin and belongs to the Entisols. The soils of the experimental site was free from any kind of salinity or sodicity hazards, low in organic carbon and nitrogen, high in available phosphorus and potassium. There were 18 treatment combinations comprising of three levels, each of sowing times (30th August, 10th and 20th September) and spacing (30, 45 and 60 cm) and two levels of sowing methods (drilling and transplanting (Seeding in the nursery at the same date on drill sowing done)) embedded in a split-split plot design with four replications. | en_US |
