dc.description.abstractMaize is an important cereal crop of the Gujarat. Various fungi infect developing earheads of maize under field conditions hampering both yield and grain quality. Investigation was carried out on the assessment of fungi associated with different types of discolored grains of naturally infected yellow seeded GM 2 and white seeded GM 4 variety, health status of discolored grains in respect of grain weight, seed germination, shoot and root length and seedling vigour index (SVI), effect of cultural filtrates of various fungi on grain health, influence of mode of infection by ear-infectingen_US
