dc.description.abstractPromotion of export has become an important part of India’s trade and export import policy. Export promotion is very essential for the development of the Indian economy. Hence the government of India has been adopting various export promotion measures for the promotion and diversification of export. Export promotion measures include various policy decisions, schemes, concessions, incentives and facilities offered to the exporters. Export promotion measure aim at removing the difficulties and problems faced by the exporters. The Marine Products Export Development Authority, a nodal agency set up by the Govt. of India in 1972 for the promotion of seafood exports from India, gives a detailed account of India's seafood potential, products, processing units and export performance. The Seafood Industry of India has come a long way and today seafood is exported to nearly 70 countries from India. MPEDA functions under the Ministry of Commerce, Government of India and acts as a coordinating agency with different Central and State Government establishments engaged in fishery production and allied activities. The authority conduct fairs and exhibitions and also takes part in international fairs. It also gives publicity to Indian marine products in foreign countries. The authority advises central government on all matters relating to seafood industry and its exports. In order to maintain growth of marine products MPEDA provide various financial assistance under Six major heads and these are analyzed in detail and following details have been found outen_US
